Inspector General of Animal Welfare and Live Animal Exports seeks your views

The Inspector-General of Animal Welfare and Live Animal Exports is conducting a review to examine the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s Independent Observer (IO) program. The review will assess how effectively the IO program provides regulatory assurance regarding the welfare of livestock transported by sea.

The Inspector-General is seeking submissions from those involved or anyone who has an interest in livestock exports. It would be helpful if we could share your views and concerns regarding the Independent Observer program.

Submissions are due by 3 April 2024 via Have Your Say.
